Customer Story

Lamons Unifies ERP, Ecommerce, and CPQ Systems with Logik.io to Unlock Increased Revenue

Co-Founder & CEO Christopher Shutts and Lamons Senior VP of Information Technology, David Green for a discussion about the goals Lamons is up against for 2023 and beyond and why they chose to invest in updating their CPQ with a focus on configuration and user experience.

About the Customer

Founded in 1947, Lamons is one of the largest privately held gasket, seal, bolt and hose assembly manufacturers in the world. Their mission is to provide industry-leading safety sealing and attachment solutions through their valued quality products, exceptional service, and culture of never-ending continuous improvement.

The Challenge

Lamons had siloed systems for customer data, inventory, and order fulfillment which led to duplicated efforts and SKUs to keep all systems up to date and accurate. The segmentation also led to disjointed customer experiences, long lead times on quotes, and lengthy sales cycles.

The complexity of Lamons orders requires advanced calculations and up to the minute data tracking that their previous CPQ solution could not handle. The complexity of Lamons deals overwhelmed each of their singular systems and prevented them from reaching lofty revenue goals.

David Green
“We selected Logik.io because of the advanced configuration abilities- we found it to be far superior to anything else on the market we've used.”

The Solution

Logik.io’s headless architecture is uniting Lamons’ Salesforce CPQ solution with its ERP system via its BOM generation capabilities and allowing them to extend manufacturing configuration to an ecommerce user experience. The integration across their ERP, CPQ, and internal Lamons system will allow for the entire sales process to be completed in Salesforce, on a single data model. Additionally, inventory and the manufacturing process can be surfaced and tracked in the customer portal to allow for  customer use without sales assistance. The change has been reported as a significant improvement by Lamons customers.

The Logik.io solving engine handles Lamons’ complexity without sacrificing performance across channels; including sales orders. The sales representatives can now generate accurate and timely quotes in Logik.io and have significantly increased their sales velocity. The guided selling functionality of Logik.io assists both sales representatives and ecommerce buyers with a true solution based configuration, and the ability to leverage existing quotes to replicate similar orders is a vital function in saving representatives time.

“Without Logik.io, The amount of weeks, if not months it takes to train a new sales rep to be effective on the job, to where they could work and configure quotes on their own, it was just mindnumbing. So when we learned that with Logik.io we could incorporate guided selling into their process, (we found) it allows us to make reps more effective faster." - David Green - Senior VP of Information Technology at Lamons

Metrics Highlight

75% Decrease in Unnecessary Products

In Lamon's previous configuration process, every time a customer requested a product variation, sales reps were required to create a new SKU in their system, which would get added to their item master. This process resulted in over 1.5 Million products in their item master.

As of April 2024, Lamons has seen a 75% decrease in unnecessary products created. The team directly credits Logik.io with the improved cleanliness and ease of maintenance of their system.
